The Revellers Are Here! The Berlin Carnival Procession is Underway!

The ‘fifth season’ in Germany begins on Sunday, and Berlin is ready. The 15th Berlin Carnival Procession gets going on Sunday 19 February 2017 at 11:11 a.m., the traditional start time.

The colourful procession will move through Berlin City West from the lively Kurfürstendamm toward Wittenbergplatz. Around 1,000 participants in their costumes will proceed along the four-kilometre route.

This year’s event features a special show by Frank Zander, who has another reason to celebrate – it was his 75th birthday a few weeks ago. And of course we can expect to hear his smash hit ‘Nur nach Hause’.

Alongside Frank Zander, the singers Annemarie Eilfeld and U-Jean are on the agenda at the closing event on Wittenbergplatz. Entry is free.
